The whole series take place in Singapore where a group of working adults and students share a flat, in which they learn to tolerate each other’s craziness and queer relationship(s). Get in line for the humour and ironic circumstances to unfold in their lives, each told from a different point of view.
Character builds:
Gina: in short Gin, or Ginny as what her Husband likes to call her (only when she’s angry). Her love/hate relationship with gin and the cocktails it entails could stem from her very name. Hot tempered but fiercely loving and loyal to friends and family, Gin often finds herself in between people arguing trying to fix things and calm everyone down.
Jim: always (and I really mean always!) on the road, on the plane, or in some countries other than Singapore. His work requires him to travel so much that he can’t even call 1 place home. His ambitions drive him forward all the time, but at times when he’s down he wonders if it’s worth putting his marriage at risk?
Jessica: always looks up to Gina and Jim. She wants a guy who earns as much as (or more than) Jim that will take care of her for the rest of her lives. Flirty in nature, she often lands the most successful guys in her league at university but funnily enough break up with them on various (stupid) reasons. Constantly look down on Leonard.
Leonard: despite the flair in his name, he’s quite an introvert. Often stuck to his computer with Bob, he plays games all day when he doesn’t study. Everyone always wonder how he ended up like this despite having a rich Father with overseas businesses. Besides, he plays piano like a genius.
Bob: or Botbelly, a combo of his potbelly and his love for auto-bots, he has a huge mess with Fanny, the kind of love that you cannot let go easily but at the same time can’t really live with it. No matter how much he pushes Fanny away, she always comes back banging on the door for him, asking him to come back to her. He’s also Best Friend with Jim and growing close to Leonard, hence it makes him unbearable to leave.
Fanny: the most faithful woman on the entire Earth. She has one-sidedly been in love with Bob since Uni days, and has refused to stay away from him. She has a harsh life and struggle to pay rent in this house, but she believes one day Bob will understand they can’t live without each other, no matter what people say.
